Resource After Resource!

Hi everyone!

We have really enjoyed answering your questions about Carolina! This post is an attempt to group together the links we have used to make explanations and help you understand EXACTLY what we are talking about. This post will be re-posted and updated when something new comes up so be sure to stay updated!

MyUNC - The obvious one, and how you access ConnectCarolina.

HeelMail - The NEW and improved email system, which all of campus will be required to use by the fall. Acclimate yourself now.

Undergraduate Bulletin - The 2012-2013 edition. It will be updated soon once they release the 2013-2014 bulletin; check back for the updated version. Great way to plan your academic future; you’ll get a hard copy at CTOPS.

Map of Campus - Use this to help plot out where your classes are!

First-Year Guide - The guide to answer your questions about suggested courses for prospective majors; requirements, etc.  THEY HAVE NOT RELEASED THE 2013-2014 GUIDE. When they do, we will update the link! It should be released in early May.

First Year Seminars - Meet other first year students in these interesting courses. 

Transfer Credit - You’ll thank yourself now for taking those AP courses. So will your parents.

Alcohol Education Course: required of all incoming students, so make sure you get it done!  You’ll need to make an account using your UNC email and PID. UNC’s Pin for the course is “tarheels.”

Residence Halls - You’ve been placed, now, find out how AWESOME your building truly is.

Housing FAQ - Housing answers questions that you ask most.

Your Room - All things YOUR room. Three pages of knowledge!

Future Residents’ Blog - Even Housing is bloggin’ about Carolina. Hear a current resident discuss life in residence halls.

Meal Plans - This is important. Your appetite will thank you.

OneCard - Also important. When you go to CTOPS, you’ll have your one-card made, and this card is your meal plan, expense account (laundry), dining flex (for Subway and Chickfila) and bank account, if you choose.

Immunization and Health History - Required to enroll at Carolina. Log in with your ONYEN. Paper copy should be submitted, also.

Academic Calendar for 2011-2013 - You don’t want to count the days until your first year is over, you want to live it up! But here’s the calendar to help you map out holidays and breaks.

Student Government - Get involved in campus decision making! Student self-governance is responsible for most decisions at UNC.

NextBus - When will it arrive? Never wonder, KNOW! Your most common routes will be U, NU, RU, and P2P express.

P2P Express - Buses running to specific points on campus from 7p-3a. 

UNC SafeRide - Program it now. After 3am you can STILL get a ride home. 919-962-7867. 

Bicycle Information - DPS policies and information on permitting your bicycle.

Daily Tar Heel - Our student run newspaper that even YOU can become a part of!

UNC Blinkness - Reviews and grade distributions.

Phree Phood on Facebook - Friend them. They’ll keep you informed of all the free food available to you!
